Ocho escuelas de Ballet y la Banda de Jazz del Conservatorio Nacional de Música unieron sus repertorios la noche del pasado sábado 25 para llenar de música y danza el Anfiteatro Sur del Palacio de Bellas Artes.

SANTO DOMINGO, 26 DE OCTUBRE DE 2008.- La Secretaría de Estado de Cultura, la Dirección General de Bellas Artes, y Orange presentaron el espectáculo "Música y Danza Joven (Lo Mejor del Talento Joven del País)" en el Anfiteatro Sur del nuevo Palacio de Bellas Artes, bajo la coordinación artística del primer bailarín, coreógrafo y profesor Víctor Ramírez.

"Con esta presentación se continúa el programa de Temporada Inaugural del Nuevo Palacio de Bellas Artes, el cual persigue acercar una vez más, totalmente gratis, al pueblo dominicano a las bellas artes", explicó Ramírez.

En esta actividad, la música y la danza se vistieron de gala para presentar lo mejor de sus repertorios en el Anfiteatro Sur del Palacio de Bellas Artes.

La Banda de Jazz del Conservatorio Nacional de Música, dirigida por el maestro Joe Nicolás presentó en su actuación "Busin' Strett Blues" de Spencer Williams; las siguientes "Gettin' On With It" de Jerry Nowak; "Band Stand Boggie" de C. Albertine; "Watch What Happens" de Michel Legrand; "What I Did For Love" de Marvin Hamlish; entre otras reconocidas canciones.

Mientras que los Ballet Clásico Alina Abreu, Balleteatro Dominicano, Ballet Roto, Ballet Contempora, Ballet Studio, Ballet Concierto Dominicano, Articentro y el Teatro Popular Danzante son las escuelas que participaron en este encuentro cargado de ritmo y melodía.

La coordinación artística estuvo a cargo de Víctor Ramírez, Katty Casado fue la coordinadora de producción, la coordinación técnica, de Lina Hopellman y la presentadora del espectáculo Zeny Leiva.

El programa de actividades de la Temporada Inaugural del Nuevo Palacio de Bellas Artes, comprendió además ¡Una tarde en el Palacio!, dedicada a los más pequeños y que incluyó teatro de títeres, cuentacuentos, zancos, música, magia y payasos, celebrada el domingo 26 en la Plaza Anfiteatro Sur del referido Palacio de Bellas Artes.

Para el martes 28 se presenta el "Concierto Cuarteto Instrumento de Cámara SEJONG", auspiciado por la Embajada de Korea en República Dominicana, a las 8:00 de la noche en la sala Máximo Avilés Blonda.

Junto a estas actividades desde el miércoles 22, la Secretaría de Estado de Cultura ofrece una serie de eventos que culminarán con el "4to. Concierto de la Temporada de Otoño" de la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional, el próximo miércoles 29 de octubre, en la sala Máximo Avilés Blonda.

COLOMBIA DESPIDE A TERESA GUTIÉRREZ.- Los colombianos lloran la partida de Teresa Gutiérrez, una de las más admiradas y respetadas actrices del país. Gutiérrez, quien comenzó su exitosa carrera como locutora de radio, murió en Bogotá a los 81 años de edad. Familiares, amigos, compañeros y seguidores le rinden una sentida despedida en la funeraria Gaviria, al norte de Bogotá, donde se cumple su velación. Sus restos serán cremados en la capital colombiana, y posteriormente sus cenizas serán esparcidas en los alrededores de la Estatua de la Libertad, en Nueva York, por petición de la inolvidable actriz. Teresa Gutiérrez nació el 25 de octubre de 1928. Se dio a conocer gracias a la telenovela "La abuela", en donde intérpretaba a una perversa abuela que dominaba a todos en su casa. La también actriz Consuelo Luzardo dijo que está sorprendida con la partida de Gutiérrez "porque uno jamás espera que suceda algo así". Entre tanto, una de sus hijas señaló que su madre fue "una mujer muy fuerte... y murió como ella quería". María Cecilia Botero, otra reconocida actriz colombiana, afirmó que "Teresa era un ser muy adorable, divertida y llena de vida". Confesó que lo que más recuerda es su risa. "Si había alguien que se divirtiera con la vida, era ella", anotó Botero.
